Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme

What is V.T.O.S

The VTOS Scheme is a second chance education and training programme enabling unemployed adults to return to full-time education to gain qualifications so that they can gain employment or progress to further educational opportunities.

Who can join

  • To join a VTOS programme participants must be 21 years or over and in receipt of one of the following payments for 6 months or more:-
  • Unemployment Assistance/Benefit
  • One-parent Family Payment
  • Disability Allowance
  • Disability Benefit
  • Invalidity Pension
  • Signing for Credits
  • Adult Dependent Allowance (Spouse)*

(*subject to conditions)

Courses Available

  • Options Foundation course offering E.C.D.L., Art, Woodcarving, Junior Certificate.
  • Leaving Certificate
  • Certificate in Information Processing (FETAC Level 5)
  • Certificate in Information Technology (FETAC Level 5)
  • Certificate/Diploma in City & Guilds in
    1. Computer Applications
    2. I.C.T. (Information and Communication Technology/Computer Maintanance)
  • Woodcraft/Woodturning
