Grennan Mill Craft School is housed in an 18th century grain mill on the banks of the river Nore in Thomastown, County Kilkenny. The grain lofts of the mill have been converted into spacious and well equipped craft/art studios. The school was set up in 1981 and has now established itself as an important centre of study in the crafts area and offers a wide range of courses. The school is run and funded by County Kilkenny V.E.C.

Entry Requirements:

A good leaving certificate or equivalent is normally required, but exceptions may be made in certain cases. There is no age limit.

A portfolio of work, which should include: design work, sketch books, life drawings, nature studies craftwork and photographs of any large 3D work, (about 25 pieces in total).

Interview

A confidential report from your school principal or art teacher must accompany the application form.

Course Duration:

Two year full-time study, September to June.

Funding:

Post Leaving Certificate grants are available.

Interviews are held in mid May.
