Grennan College Equestrian Centre
The college was a pioneer in the area of Equestrian Studies when it originally opened in 1978 and has continued to develop to meet the particular needs of the horse industry. The course specialises in equipping its students for a successful career by providing a personalised education with a high motivation factor, thus enabling each student to reach his/her full potential. Grennan College has built up a strong reputation due to the co-operative spirit and dedication of its highly qualified staff.
Course Aim:
It is a practical and academic course for those seeking careers in the horse industry. It is designed and run in accordance with international standards in order to attain the best equine and teaching practices.
Entry Requirements:
Students should have Leaving Certificate standard or equivalent, BUT THIS IS NOT COMPULSORY. Some equestrian experience is essential. Minimum entry age is 16 years.
Course Duration:
One year full-time study, September to June.
Funding:
Post Leaving Certificate grants are available.
Interviews:
Interviews are held in mid May.
Certification:
The British Horse Society — Preliminary Instructor F.E.TA.C. — Certificate in Horsemanship Level 2.
Irish Certificate in Equestrian Science.
Grennan Equestrian College offers the opportunity to gain practical yard experience while receiving individual attention from teaching staff. Competition experience is also encouraged.
